Job Description:

Ambient Skies seeks to hire a rock-star Jr. Producer who loves all things video production and is excited to join a fast-growing creative team in Phoenix, AZ. He/She should have a strong technical background and understanding of the creative process to assist the team in developing universe-bending content for a variety of clients and projects.

Our new Jr. Producer will be responsible for ensuring the production of various video projects by working directly under our Head of Production. At times they will need to communicate directly with clients, oversee budgets, schedules, call sheets, and crew/vendor paperwork. His or Her responsibilities will vary day-to-day, so we’re looking for a team player who’s willing to proactively lead and implement any operational processes to help efficiency.

For all roles at Ambient Skies, our relationship with our employees is very important and something that we strive in growing with every experience. For this reason, we start all full time positions on a 3 month collaboration training. From there, we re-evaluate job descriptions on a bi-annual basis as we learn how to grow together and honing in on skillsets that stand out most.

The position will be 75% remote, with 25% on-location in Phoenix, AZ and the candidate must also be willing to travel as we do make our way around the Globe at times.

This position reports directly to the Head of Production.

The Jr. Producer’s responsibilities vary from project to project. However, their duties may include the following:

  • Working directly under our Head of Production & Creative Director
  • Working directly with Associate Creative Director
  • Managing and collaborating with clients to execute projects from start to finish
  • Working along with the Head of Production to implement procedures and workflows to increase efficiencies of a growing production company
  • Project research, gathering information and knowledge from available resources
  • Hiring, arranging and organizing crew members and supervising production personnel for live action shoots
  • Operational duties such as managing budgets and status updates
  • Staffing/booking crew and equipment
  • Executing crew/vendor paperwork
  • Setup and sending out call sheets for live action productions
  • Active involvement in the creative side of the job by pitching ideas, helping to develop stories and scripts and suggesting improvements
  • Participation in content / on location shoots. At times may be asked to wear a few hats ranging from PM, Coordinator, 1st or 2nd AD and of course Production / Producer lead

Producer skills and qualifications:

  • 5 years of direct client management experience on commercial production projects
  • Ability and experience managing up to 10 projects at once. This can mean several smaller ongoing projects and 1-2 larger projects at any given time
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure
  • Strong decision making: Our Jr. Producer will need to make staffing and other important decisions.
  • Conflict management: During production work, some conflict will arise, the Associate Producer needs to be able to manage the conflict and provide effective solutions to the issues.
  • Leadership skills: A Jr. Producer must be a good leader in order to get the production team to produce.
  • Good technical knowledge: A Jr. Producer needs to understand all aspects involved in the production and should be able to use the production equipment and tools.
  • Excellent communication skills: Good communication skills are crucial for an Jr. Producer since the job requires a lot of interaction with unit members and clients.
  • Flexibility: As this job is time-sensitive it may also require extra hours, so flexibility is necessary for this position.
